If youīve only heard of three states of matter (solid, liquid and gas), then youīre behind the times. In the middle 1990s, physicists at the University of Colorado at Boulder created a new state of matter, which only exists at temperatures just above absolute zero. So far the only place theyīve seen the super-dense matter is in the laboratory, but it is speculated that this matter exists naturally somewhere in the universe.
